Week 18 (22nd Dec - 29th Dec)

Aydi's 1st Christmas!

I was so worried that it would all be too much for Aydi, especially the 24th as we were starting at 7pm (almost his bedtime). I was concerned he would be really cranky and miserable if he didn't sleep but incredibly he enjoyed all the festivities and was happy all the way till the end.

We had a lovely 2 days full of wonderful memories to look back on and remember.

Here is the most wonderful gift life has given us so far!

Week 17 (15th Dec - 21st Dec)

Aydin met his turkish family this week. Grandma, grandpa, uncle, auntie and cousin. It's an overwhelming experience for such a little boy but he adapted well. There was a bit of searching round the room for me or daddy which was very sweet.

I see now that holidays with little ones are more exhausting than been home all day alone with one. He struggled to sleep and I had to survive on minimal shut eye.
It was a combination of- blocked nose, cough, strange environment, noise, maybe growth spurts, maybe wonder week, maybe teething- who knows what but it was a tough few days of me.

Nonetheless he got to meet more of his family and they got to enjoy a few days with him.

By Wednesday we were back home enjoy the calm of our little flat. The week was rounded of with a visit from grandma lily who had clearly been missing her handsome grandson.

Week 16 ( 8th Dec - 14th Dec)

This week my little Aydi had a difficult session at the osteopath and by Thursday had come down with a cold. He was due to have his final round of vaccinations which had to be cancelled as he already had a high temperature.

Things were looking doubtful for our ferry trip to visit the in laws but after a night of worrying his temperature returned to normal( was 38.1 at one point) and we decided it would be ok to go. He slept the whole hour bus journey and the rest if the journey he was well behaved. First bit of the journey was pretty smooth despite my initial nerves.

Aydin is focusing a lot more now. Look at those eyes.
He had about 5 new scratches that morning.
What lovely lips my boy has. :)

Practically bold now, where did all that hair go?

Week 15 (1st Dec - 7th Dec)

This week I took Aydin to the oestiopathy childrens centre for a check up. All very interesting, it seems he is a bit constricted now that he has grown so much and needs a bit of help relieving that pressure. This all could help explain his struggle feeding and sleeping on his back. That day he slept really well but the next day or two he was really cranky. By the weekend he had calmed down again.

I also ventured out and went to milk spot (breastfeeding workshop) and a lovely midwife gave me tips on helping Aydin feel better and less gassy. Who would have thought he needs burping before meals too!!

New skills this week- grabbing a rattle and Sophie the giraffe (with help from me) and chewing them. My beautiful boy is learning so fast. He has very strong little legs and already wants to put weight on them on the other hand his upper body is still a bit flimsy.

Who's that lovely boy?

Chubby love

He knows to look at the phone. How?

Kissing Sophie

This was his 5:30am look on Sunday. If he wasn't so cute!!!

Week 14 (24th Nov - 30th Nov)

Monday was a bit tough with a cranky baby but on a positive note, not only has he mastered 'ah-goos' he has got the hang of blowing raspberries. So if I do it most times he responds like it's our little language.

He is also suddenly holding his head up much better than before. My little guy is really learning and growing quickly. On thursday we spent even more time alone because Hal worked till late and though I was worried it wasn't too exhausting.

Friday I saw my lovely friend with her twins and was super impressed with how calm and relaxed Aydin was the whole time. He is so adorable I can't believe he's mine!

Saturday was spent with Aydins lovely grandma (my gorgeous mama) and again  he was very well behaved. We went for a nice lunch and a spot of shopping in my local area. This was repeated on Sunday with Hal joining us too. Overall a very successful week for my little man. I don't want to jinxs things but he is so calm it's a dream.

Week 13 ( 17th Nov - 23rd Nov)

3 months old!!!

Happy monthly-versary my sunshine!

Aydin was such an angel this week, much less cranky crying and more happy baby. He is still sleeping lots but I guess that's what he currently needs. We had a very quiet week mainly at home, on Saturday we went out to try and get him some bigger clothes. Going out is still a little stressful and eating out is not the best idea right now, but we try. The weekend weather was pretty miserable rain, rain and more rain.

Week 12 (10th Nov - 16th Nov)

Daddy's back at work and though I was dreading feeling low in his absence, I am feeling ok. I think the grey cloud of negativity is slowly making the way for clearer happier thinking.

I think I have focused so much on Aydi's few minutes of complaining before naps that I was constantly anxious. Now that I know it's just part of the normal routine I am a bit calmer and better able to cope without feeling heart broken.

On Thursday Aydin had his second vaccination which wasn't so dreadful once I knew what to expect. Not dreading the 3rd one quite so much.

On two days this week Aydin suddenly started crying in what I know is the 'I'm in pain' crying. I was in such a panic both times but in less than half an hour he was back to normal. After a check up with the doctor we could only guess it was trapped wind. I hope that's the case and we don't get this too often.

In a few days we hit the 3 month mark, can't believe we are practically there.

My chubby little love is running low on clothes because 0-3 no longer fits. He is definitely size 3-6 month and a healthy 6.92 kgs.
